PGZ with record financial results and growing arms exports

The Polish Armaments Group is currently experiencing an exceptional period of development, which in recent years has translated into record financial results and increased arms exports. According to the forecasts of the PGZ Communication and External Relations Office, the group's revenues in 2025 are expected to reach approximately PLN 20 billion, with a net profit of approx. PLN 2.5 billion, which means an increase of over 40% compared to 2024, when the company generated approximately PLN 13.9 billion in revenues[1]. These data confirm that PGZ is developing dynamically – both in terms of production scale and operational efficiency.

At the same time, PGZ's share in foreign markets is growing significantly. Although a few years ago exports accounted for a smaller percentage of revenues, today the share of sales outside Poland is becoming more and more important. In its statements to the media, PGZ points out that currently exports account for about 20% of revenues and are one of the key elements of the development strategy, with the ambition to increase this part of its operations in the future[2].

The growing demand for armaments and equipment upgrades in Europe is a consequence of changes in the security environment from 2022 onwards. The armed conflict in Ukraine has highlighted the importance of having its own production capacity in the field of ammunition and combat systems, which has prompted many NATO countries, including Poland, to increase defense spending.

PGZ plays an important role in this process, implementing numerous long-term contracts for the Polish Armed Forces. Significant orders concern, among m.in, artillery and anti-aircraft programs and ammunition production, which translates into financial stability and the possibility of long-term investment planning[3].

Ammunition production is one of the most important areas of the group's development. Due to the huge demand, Poland has allocated billions of zlotys to build new factories and increase production capacity — according to reports, the government is ready to allocate about PLN 2.4 billion to expand the production of NATO-standard ammunition, which is expected to increase annual production well above current levels.

In practice, this means intensifying the production of the most important combat materials, including 155 mm artillery shells used by systems such as howitzers[4]. The expansion of the ammunition potential is of great strategic importance – both for securing one's own defence needs and for the possibility of further sale to foreign markets[5].

PGZ's exports include not only ammunition, but also combat equipment and weapon systems. An example is the AHS Krab artillery units, which were exported to Ukraine under a multi-billion zloty contract; They are an example of how Polish equipment can be recognized abroad and compete with the products of large international corporations[6].

The strategic importance of PGZ in the new geopolitical reality is therefore multidimensional: it not only supplies key equipment for the Polish army, but also builds its own production competences, strengthens export potential and contributes to increasing the security of Central and Eastern Europe in the context of cooperation with NATO and partner countries.
