The 32nd Tactical Air Base has completed another edition of the Polish-American Aviation Detachment Rotation exercises, which are part of the cooperation between Poland and the US, established under a memorandum signed on June 13, 2011. Due to the invasion of Ukraine, the last exercises of this kind were held in 2021, when both F-16 and F-15 fighter jets flew to Poland for the first time.
August 7, 2024 marked the end of the Aviation Detachment Rotation 24-3 exercise, in which six F-16 aircraft flew to Poland from the U.S. The trainings began on July 24, with the participation of Polish airmen from the 32nd Tactical Aviation Base in Łask and American airmen from the 138th Fighter Wing, part of the Oklahoma State National Guard. Aviation Detachment Rotation exercises are held in Poland periodically four times a year, in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned memorandum. Two of the exercises involve the use of F-16 fighters, while the other two focus on C-130 Hercules transport aircraft. However, the first trainings began only two years after the agreement was signed.
The purpose of the exercise is to build interoperability, improve cooperation with the US Air Force and perform joint training.
