The contract signed on September 5, 2023 by the Ministry of Defense with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS for the delivery of two Maritime Missile Units (MJR) is a milestone for the Polish Navy[1]. As a result, Kongsberg will be entering into subcontracts with Polish suppliers, among which PIT-RADWAR S.A. will be a key supplier.

This Polish company, which has a rich history of activities in the field of defense technology, will play a key role in supplying components for the Offshore Missile Units, demonstrating its capabilities in command and communications vehicles, as well as workshop vehicles. Critical to the success of this endeavor is the expertise of the company’s employees, acquired more than a decade ago during the delivery of the first two offshore missile squadrons.

The company PIT-RADWAR S.A. – has been entrusted with a significant portion of subcontract work related to the Marine Missile Units. The company’s involvement includes the supply of command and communications vehicles necessary for the coordination and smooth operation of the missile units. These vehicles play a very important role during operations, ensuring effective communication and execution of commands.

In addition, PIT-RADWAR S.A. will provide workshop vehicles necessary for the maintenance and repair of Marine Missile Units, ensuring their longevity and operational readiness. This diverse contribution underscores the company’s comprehensive capabilities, which go beyond mere manufacturing to include the complex support systems necessary to ensure the sustained functionality of such advanced military equipment.

The decision to involve PIT-RADWAR S.A. in key aspects of the project reflects the trust the company has earned through the successful execution of similar orders during the first deliveries of the Coastal Missile Squadrons. This experience positions PIT-RADWAR S.A. as a reliable and proven partner, well-equipped to deal with the complexities of naval missile unit projects.

On October 26, at the Mazovian Production and Service Center of PIT-RADWAR S.A. in Kobylka, the company, together with Wojskowy Zakłady Elektroniczne S.A., formalized subcontracts with the business unit of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS, a subsidiary of Kongsberg Gruppen[2]. The agreements are crucial for the production and delivery of components for two Maritime Missile Units, a project of great importance to national defense.

The joint effort goes beyond the provision of physical components, it also includes servicing and production of NSM (Naval Strike Missile) guided missiles[3]. This holistic approach ensures that we comprehensively address not only the hardware components, but also the advanced weapons associated with the Navy’s missile units. The involvement of multiple players, each contributing their unique expertise, reinforces the synergy necessary for the successful implementation of such high-tech defense projects.
